Each member of The Doyle Collection team is an ambassador of our brand values: Generosity, Personal and Belonging.The Dupont Circle Hotel now has an excellent opportunity available for a Director of People & Cultureto lead our Hotel P&C team and strategy.We are seeking a culture driven Director of People & Culture to join this amazing team! Our team members are the heart of everything we do and as the Director of P&C you are responsible for directing and administering the Human Resources functions in the hotels continuous effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability while ensuring the team experiences a great place to work through dynamic and effective communication and employee relations programs, competitive compensation and benefits programs and ensuring compliance to all legal requirements. This position is a member of the Hotel Executive leadership and reports to the Hotel General Manager with dotted line reporting and collaboration with the Corporate Head of Human Resources in Dublin, Ireland.Oversight and administration of functions include but are not necessarily limited to: recruiting, training and development, wage and benefit administrations inclusive of annual review and benefit selections, compliance with statutory requirements inclusive of annual district and federal reporting, compliance with Doyle Collection regulations and policies, team member relations programs, compensation programs, workers compensation and safety, EEO compliance, maintenance of HRIS systems, employment processes and general leadership, guidance and support to all levels of the hotel operation and to home office. Additional responsibilities will include the development, implementation and administration of all policies related to the management of all hotel team members to ensure a positive, productive, fair and consistent place to workplace, maintaining up to date knowledge of district and federal regulations. This position collaborates with the finance department to ensure that correct payroll procedures are followed and team members are paid fairly and on time the HRIS system is up to date and in accordance with regulations.The Director of People and Culture is supported by a full-time coordinator and hotel Training Manager, with additional support through a brand Head of Talent and a Corporate Head of Human Resources. The ideal candidate for this position:

  • Must have previous experience in a similar role. Should have progressive leadership experience with a wide scope of Human Resources knowledge. At least three years as an Assistant HR Director/Manager in a similar size operation
  • Proven knowledge of regulations and Human Resources processes and requirements, with a history of high compliance to regulations and processes. Should have familiarity with and knowledge of employment law.
  • Previous experience managing a team of direct reports
  • Must be courteous and focused on providing a consistently high standard of service
  • Must have effective listening skills, able to understand, clarify and resolve the concerns and issues raised by co-workers and guests.
  • Must be standards driven and detail-orientated
  • Must have the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to evaluate and select among alternative courses of actions quickly and accurately.
  • Should have PHR certification or SHRM -CP or be moving towards attaining
  • Should have excellent self-presentation
  • Strong experience with HRIS systems. ADP preferred but not required.Benefits package:
