Northrop Grumman's Aeronautics Systems sector has an opening for a Program Manager 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Strategy and Business Development team in Falls Church, Virginia.

The successful candidate will be responsible for: 1) providing operational and technical expertise to support the development of cutting-edge naval aviation systems; 2) assessing the operational effectiveness, cost-effectiveness, and strategic value of current and potential future naval aviation capabilities; 3) assessing the cost and cost-effectiveness of potential naval aircraft acquisition and fleet management approaches; 4) presenting such assessments to company leaders, government customers, and other stakeholders in the broader Navy strategy, policy, budgeting, and acquisition community.

Basic Qualifications

  • Must have a bachelor's degree and 7+ years applicable experience or master's degree and 5+ years applicable experience
  • Prior Project and/or Program Management experience
  • Strong communication skills are required, to include the ability to generate and present material to customers and senior executives.
  • Must have an active (in-scope) DoD Secret Clearance with a last investigation / re-investigation within the past 5 yearsPreferred Qualifications
    • Familiarity with U.S. naval aviation and Navy aircraft acquisition.
    • Prior experience utilizing Quantitative skills are required to assess cost-effectiveness.
    • Familiarity and experience with the U.S. naval aviation enterprise, including operational naval aviation forces, Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), and/or the Navy Staff (OPNAV) Warfare Systems Air Warfare Division (N98) is preferred.
    • Familiarity and experience with cost analysis organizations, including the OPNAV Programming and Assessments Divisions (N80 and N81) and Cost Assessment and Program Evaluation (CAPE) is preferred.
    • Understanding of US Navy aircraft acquisition, requirements development, and aircraft fleet management is preferred.
    • Experience in program management, requirements development, and/or lifecycle management is preferred. Salary Range: $143,500 USD - $215,300 USD

      Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
