Our Company has one exciting mission: To entertain the human race.PRIMARY PURPOSE:It is the primary responsibility of the Catering & Conference Service Manager to ensure the complete coordination of all special events & client meetings while working closely with hotel departments to ensure the successful planning, set-up, and service of client's stay. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and MGM Resorts policies, practices, and procedures, as well as within the framework of MGM Resorts strategic intent.PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assumes the role of the main point of communication between the client and all departments within the property both in pre- planning and on-site. Manages assigned operational functions within the department consistent with the strategic plan and vision for the department and the property. Manages the delivery and measurement of guest service within assigned department(s) consistent with the company core service standards and brand attributes. Works directly with clients on proposals, contracts, planning, room set-up, dcor, cost and billing details and other requirements pertinent to their program. Ensures that necessary meeting facilities are reserved where applicable. Hosts prospective and existing clients visiting the hotel, to include customer entertainment such as dining in hotel restaurants and accompanying to shows. Creates a work environment that promotes teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect, and employee satisfaction. Performs all job-related duties as assigned.SUPERVISION: NoneMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience One (1) years of prior relevant experiencePREFERRED: Four (4) years recent work experience in hotel and/or banquet operations Social Catering experience Working knowledge of AmadeusCERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Strong organizational skills to function effectively under time constraints with attention to details. Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with management, associates, and other employees. Ability to effectively listen and administer instructions, remain calm and manage multiple tasks in a very-high paced and stressful environment. Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude and ability to deal effectively with guests, management, employees, and outside contacts while working under pressure and meeting deadlines. Able to frequently move freely throughout the convention center, sit for long periods and withstand various activities such as frequent and long distances walking, standing, and bending. Able to maintain manual dexterity to access computer via computer keyboard and operate office equipment, such as telephones, copiers, tablet applications, etc. Have the ability to access all areas of the facility and travel off property. Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, Word, and Excel Working knowledge of automated Sales/Catering system, Amadeus preferred. Excellent organizational skills to function effectively with attention to detail while meeting established deadlines and multiple work assignments. Working knowledge and understanding of labor bargaining agreements. Ability to read and evaluate written material. Must be able to communicate effectively in English, in both written and oral forms. Must have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
