Job DescriptionSOME (So Others Might Eat) exists to help the homeless and poor of Washington, DC. With over 30 programs throughout the District of Columbia, we provide a wide spectrum of services to the most vulnerable individuals and families of our city. We strive to provide success paths toward mental and physical health, continued sobriety, job training and employment with a living wage, affordable housing, and ultimately living independently and confidently. SOME (So Others Might Eat) is currently seeking a full-time Night Manager for our Family Services department - Weinberg House. Family Services provide safe and dignified affordable housing for families. Want to make an impact in your own community. This job allows you to work and live in DC in one of our efficiencies. Stellar benefits, Team Environment, and Steady Pay!Position Description: The Night Manager will maintain the security of the facility during off-hours. The Night Manager will also provide upkeep of the facility and maintenance activities to provide a comfortable, clean, and dignified home for residents. In addition, the Night Manager will perform light cleaning of buildings and grounds and provide light facilities maintenance.Covid-19 Considerations: SOME (So Others Might Eat) is currently has a mandatory Covid-19 vaccination policy. All employees are required to have completed the Covid-19 vaccination prior to hiring. Submission of Covid-19 Vaccination Card is required.Schedule: Full-time; 40 hours per week; flexible schedule dependent upon Program NeedsQualifications: Required: Some High School education; 1-3 years' experience of security, residential and/or janitorial experienceRequired License/Certification: CPR/First Aid, AED CertificationKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • Knowledge of basic cleaning and maintenance techniques
  • Ability to establish and adhere to strong professional boundaries
  • Good customer service skills
  • Flexibility with the ability to multi-task despite competing priorities
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to read and write
  • Ability to work independently and work in a team environmentContributions:
    • Safety Management: Supervise and circulate the building. Maintain a visitors log and record any usual incidents or violations.
    • Program Management: On occasion perform resident drug and alcohol testing. Participate in scheduled building meetings.
