Committee Management Specialist
American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers (AFPM) is looking for
an experienced, organized and detail-oriented Committee Management
Specialist. AFPM is a dynamic trade association representing
high-tech American manufacturers of virtually the entire U.S.
supply of gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, other fuels, and home heating
oil, as well as the petrochemicals used as building blocks for
thousands of vital products in daily life, from paints to plastics,
space suits to solar panels, and medicines to mobile phones.
The Committee Management Specialist coordinates and facilitates
regional network meetings across the United States focused on our
Safety regional networks. This is a full-time exempt position and
reports to AFPM's Senior Manager, Regional Network Programs.
Assists in managing, coordinating, and facilitating occupational
safety regional network meetings
Builds strong relationships with AFPM member company
representatives and meeting attendees.
Assists in developing and maintaining network communications,
network materials, and member-focused databases.
Disseminates important information within and across regions, and
with other relevant AFPM committees.
Communicates and collaborates with AFPM staff managing other
regional network programs, to ensure program standards and
cohesiveness are maintained.
Provides input and recommendations on how to build, improve, and
streamline the programs in the AFPM Safety department.
Represents AFPM at industry- and safety-related conferences and
Bachelor's degree in related field or three to five years of
equivalent knowledge and experience. Trade association experience a
Experience in coordinating meetings, facilitating meeting
discussions, capturing meeting minutes, and maintaining network
contact lists. Process or occupational safety, and/or safety
programs experience preferred.
Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat required, and
proficiency in association management software and applications
Strong written and verbal communication skills, teamwork skills and
interpersonal skills required.
Ability to travel as needed to regional and other assigned
