Our well known innovative nonprofit client in Arlington, VA is searching for a DIRECTOR OF CLINICAL PRACTICE. They are an innovative and dynamic professional association within the public health arena. They offer competitive salaries and excellent benefits.
DIRECTOR OF CLINICAL PRACTICE Position Overview:In partnership with staff, volunteers, and external stakeholders, the Director, Clinical Practice will develop and advance a comprehensive strategy to support clinicians in the provision of high-quality care and services. The Director will oversee initiatives related to clinical practice management as well as provide leadership to payment, practice and quality policy initiatives. These efforts will promote the value of the clinician to patient care and to the broader healthcare system. This position will provide leadership to a multi-year initiative effort to improve physician negotiation education and training and expand value-based payment opportunities.
Essential Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the development and dissemination of information, tools and resources for clinicians to practice efficiently, optimally engage in quality assessment and improvement, and comply with reporting requirements. Examples include resources on physician payment policies, billing & coding, implementing telemedicine, value of promotion, and related population health programs
  • Provide leadership to the development and implementation of physician compensation initiative, a multi-year effort to improve physician negotiation education and training and expand value-based payment opportunities
  • Engage and provide subject matter expertise to the task force in defining optimal value-based contracting arrangements and in engaging payers and national quality groups to recommend the use of metrics that appropriately evaluate the value of physicians
  • Lead evaluation efforts, including the development and administration of continued compensation benchmark studies to assess progress over time as well as participation/user surveys to evaluate effectiveness of educational materials and resources
  • Partner with Public Policy and Government Relations staff to develop and implement a strategy to improve coverage of services and incentives for physicians' clinical and systems-level activities
  • Partner with the Clinical Practice Guidelines staff in the development of measures and practice standards
  • Provide leadership and support to committees in advancing their Board-directed agendas and activities
  • Provide leadership to a program designed to support excellence in stewardship programs across all health settings and promote client's role in this area
  • Identify and maintain engagement and member representation in relevant organizations (CPT, RUC, Cognitive Care Alliance, Cognitive Specialty Coalition, AMA House of Delegates)
    Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
    • Advanced degree in health/health care/health services administration, public health or related field required
    • 10 year's relevant experience within a professional medical association/society, healthcare organization, consulting firm, or other health-related organization. Experience with non-profit medical specialty society preferred
    • At least 5 years in a management position supervising staff

      • Demonstrated ability to simultaneously manage multiple, complex projects in varying stages of development under time constraints.
      • Demonstrated success leading and managing work groups or committees, achieving consensus and results.
      • Experience in analysis, interpretation, and communication of public and private sector health care reimbursement and practice policy
      • Competent user of standard productivity tools including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
      • Fully competent user of on-line (virtual) meeting tools (e.g., WebEx Event, Zoom)
