Job Overview
The Manager Sales Compensation is responsible for developing
strategic and systematic processes, to ensure timely and accurate
delivery of compensation solutions to support the Field Sales and
Service organization. The Manager has expert knowledge of sales
compensation systems and tools, and is responsible for the
implementation and execution of Sales Compensation Plans. The
Manager will collaborate cross functionally and will be responsible
to provide detailed analysis of compensation performance.
Job Responsibilities And Essential Duties
- Manage, coach and develop the Sales Compensation Analysts
including setting goals and objectives, performance management, and
training and development
- Provide system solutions and processes to support US Sales and
Service Unit in collaboration with Sales Reporting & Analytics and
business leadership
- Responsible for creating and developing the strategy and
framework for the annual budget of Sales Commission for the US
- Partner with sales management to provide cost impact solutions
and/or opportunities related to commission/incentive designs
- Assist in designing, modeling and implementing commission and
sales incentive plans
- Develop tools and dashboards that communicate compensation
performance
- Develop methods of tracking outliers, special commission
offers, notes and other extra-ordinary payments.
- Review proposed compensation adjustments by gathering,
assessing and analyzing data.
- Responsible for creating a Payroll recap to senior leadership
on a monthly basis, providing comparative analyses and
variances.
- Manage escalation of issues and topics relating to Sales
Commission errors, explanations, changes in Comp Plan, calculations
and related issues.
- Develop and offer training to the Field Sales and Service
Management, this includes annual roll out of Comp Plan and MIB
(Management Incentive Bonus) Programs, SCO (Special Commission
Offers), SPIFFs and other Marketing incentives.
- Supervise and manage compensation audits prior to submission to
Payroll and validating sales compensation systems.
- Develop and drive relationships with client group leaders to
drive programs and strategies. Provide cross-functional training
where necessary
- Use technical proficiency in Structured Query Language (SQL),
Visual Basics for Applications (VBA) Data Access Object (DAO) and
Active Data Object (ADO) and Macro development in Microsoft Access
and Excel to develop easy to use applications that assist in
processing complex compensation data.
- Understand and conform to established guidelines, policies and
practices while being flexible to adjust to shifting
priorities.
- Capable of meeting urgent timelines while producing work that
is accurate and reliable.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelors' Degree in Finance, Accounting and Mathematics,
Business Administration or other related field, or an equivalent
combination of education and relevant experience.
- A minimum experience of 7 years in a Financial/Accounting/Sales
Analyst role(s), inclusive of experience in a Commissions
Accountant/Analyst role.
- Functional experience of 5+ years in Financial/Sales Reporting
and Database Management modeling.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong analytical, research and problem solving skills with
high attention to details.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability
to interact with different levels of management and field
associates.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and ensure
excellent attention to detail. Strong organizational skills are a
must.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel, proficiency in HRIS systems, basic
Microsoft Access, intermediate skills in Outlook and Word.
- Proven success and experience in driving Compensation programs
knowledge/experience.
- Solid knowledge and applicable skills of business concepts,
procedures and practices.
- Capable of performing the job in a quality system
environment.
- Experience using CaptivateIQ or a related automated Commission
tool highly preferred.
