Job Description:

Facebook is looking for a seasoned, results-oriented Manager to join our Governance Team. The team's mission is to partner with teams across Facebook to design, build, and manage new decision making mechanisms and institutions that give people greater power over Facebook products. We are the team that built the Oversight Board to govern Facebook's approach to content moderation and we are pioneering new solutions to an array of important challenges. In this role, you will strategically plan, lead, and manage the creation of new governance initiatives for the company. Specifically, you will design institutions, lead workstreams, and build products with cross functional teams working closely with our colleagues in Communications, Marketing, Legal, Policy, Research, Operations, and Product. An ideal candidate will be comfortable with ambiguity and able to pivot in an evolving environment under time constraints. The successful candidate will be a strong strategic, critical, and analytical thinker with excellent planning skills, strong communication skills, project management, and attention to detail. You should be passionate about the services we provide and the people that we serve.

Manager, Governance Responsibilities

* Manage and lead high priority, complex initiatives from planning to successful completion
* Partner with team leadership to build a long-term strategic vision for projects and goals across our portfolio
* Engage key stakeholders in key project phases and processes
* Oversee product builds and design of solutions with cross functional partners
* Identify and manage potential risks and liabilities
* Work with other members of the cross-functional teams such as Communications, Marketing, Legal, Policy, Research, Operations, and Product to build and iterate on project plans Periodic travel may be required

Minimum Qualifications

* B.A. or B.S. degree
* 9+ years experience with strategic planning, cross functional partnership, project management, project design, strategic execution
* Experience in management or execution
* Experience supporting a team carrying out complex cross functional initiatives
* Experience prioritizing work and interacting with different levels, both internally and externally
* Experience operating in a fast-paced environment
* Experience presenting to a wide array of audiences and stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience in collaboration between law, policy, or political science and technology
* Experience in working with technical stakeholders
