Head of Global Growers Engagement & AgriChain Activation, Senior Director-- YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Accountable to deepen Bayer's work with agribusiness organizations and global grower networks by ensuring collaboration and dialogue in relevant agricultural policy initiatives, programs and campaigns;
• Leads, supervises and carries out the work program under his/her responsibility, including strategic evaluation, proposal development and coordination of partnerships to advance agricultural development and sustainability, inclusive of smallholder agriculture and environmental and climate-related projects;
• Builds, steers and enhances growers and next generation of agricultural leaders' programs / campaigns and collaborate with network of trusted and influential leaders at all levels to drive and accelerate transformative change for sustainable development and support delivering on Bayer Sustainability Commitments. Working closely with the global and regional Public Affairs teams at Bayer Crop Science;
• Advises and brings knowledge of global growers and agribusiness organizations' views on international agricultural policy, maintain awareness of future events, campaigns and activities and identify opportunities and synergies with Bayer Sustainability and Smallholders Commitments;--
• Leads a team of relationship managers with deep farming systems understanding, grower, agribusiness and trader engagement capabilities, and agricultural policy expertise;
• Develop, implement and evolve flagship next gen-centered initiatives / programs based on impactful partnerships w/ influential KOL / networks / stakeholders to amplify transformative power and momentum, and engage with talent and future leaders in agriculture. More specifically related to this position, Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following: Required Qualifications:
  • Relevant Master's degree required--and a minimum--of 16 years' experience in stakeholder management--within the food and agricultural sector including: Smallholders or Start-ups;--Global Farmer Organizations; and/or and Agri Chain Associations;
  • A successful 10-year track record of experience in stakeholder engagement and activation leadership roles successfully practicing freedom to act and exhibiting potential to influence;
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of farming systems, Global Farmer Organizations and Agri Chain Associations, and a proven track record on developing and implementing transformational platforms and programs with the aforementioned;
  • Visionary leader with ability to challenge and shape the status quo thinking on agriculture and food systems;
  • Strong food production-related strategic mindset, analytical skills and capability of defining impactful strategies with excellent business acumen;
  • Demonstrated ability to implement strategies in complex global environments and along partnerships with owned global key accounts;
  • High level of practiced stakeholder influence and the demonstrated ability to create global action through activation and collaboration;
  • Demonstrated ability to cooperate, interact and network with internal and external senior level stakeholders in international environment, and to build up trustful relationships herein;
  • Thriving with complexity and demonstrated ability to manage ambiguity and uncertainties and steering internal/external teams in non-routine environments globally;
  • Exceptional listener. Preferred Qualifications:
    • Preferably experienced in working in a highly networked environment (i.e. matrix organization).
