The Global Learning & Development Manager will receive a generous total compensation package. Bonuses are awarded in recognition of individual and Firm performance. As a Manager at Latham, you will support all aspects of the Learning & Development department's responsibilities; primarily design, development, and delivery of training content and materials. You will also be responsible for designing and analyzing needs assessments and course evaluations, and assisting in the maintenance of the Firm's Learning Management System (LMS). The responsibilities of the Manager will also include:

  • Designing and developing new training courses, as well as reviewing and / or updating current courses to specific needs of LPPs
  • Developing and preparing training materials that include leader's guide, participant workbooks, micro-training videos, and visual aids such as PowerPoint presentations
  • Assisting in identifying training needs / issues, and providing innovative training solutions for LPPs and the Firm
  • Measuring transfer of learning and training impact by creating and implementing multi-level evaluations
  • Facilitating HR-related classroom courses to a diverse population
  • Tailoring learning moments to the individual's learning style, and adjusting delivery style from colleague to colleague
  • Contributing to the identification and creation process of new learning opportunities outside the classroom, such as using multi-media devices, e-learning, etc.
  • Undertaking regular training and upskilling, including effectiveness of materials and presentations, and making recommendations for improvements drawing on best practices from the market
  • Developing professional development training courses in line with Insights Discovery and the LPPs' needs and level of professionalism
  • Assisting in the maintenance of the LMS
  • Completing special projects on various issues as needed
  • Promoting effective work practices, working as a team member, and showing respect for co-workers
    As a Manager, you will be expected to apply your organizational and communication skills while displaying a positive, high-energy attitude. The successful Manager will have outstanding project management skills demonstrated across multiple locations, cultures, and matrixed organizations, as well as the proven ability to create high-level training courses that incorporate experiential learning activities to meet the needs and culture of the audience. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of, and proven proficiency in, adult learning, strong expertise in facilitating professional training programs, outstanding communication skills in all media, and the ability to teach / instruct individuals and groups, and measure transfer of learning. The Manager should have a comprehensive understanding of Human Resources and learning, and how it relates to policies, job descriptions, workforce analytics, retention, and culture.

    A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Human Resources Management, Organizational Behavior, Instructional Design, or a related field is preferred. A Master's degree or equivalent in a related field is also strongly preferred. A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in learning and development is required. Experience manager global projects within a matrixed environment is required. Experience and / or knowledge of LMS is required. Experience designing and facilitating virtual learning is required. Experience within a professional services environment is desired. Paralegal experience is strongly preferred.
