Job Description - IT Asset Management Principal (2004598)Job Description DynCorp International LLCIT Asset Management Principal2004598Primary Location: UNITED STATES-VIRGINIA-SPRINGFIELDSecurity Clearance: Secret Job SummaryThe IT Asset Management Principal will work parallel to the IT Manager and Supply Chain team on building out and maintaining a sustainable IT Asset Management capability.Principal AccountabilitiesResponsible for tracking and monitoring Information Technology hardware and/or software assets from initial purchase throughout the asset lifecycle. Maintain accurate records of asset location, asset type, asset owner, etc. through a defined asset tracking system. Gather detailed hardware and software inventory information and prepare reports for management and Government customer. Initiate reviews of all global asset management processes to make improvements in cost-effectiveness of program and process quality improvements. Analyze asset levels to ensure efficient allocation of resources and development of budget and related hardware modernization procurements.Partner with necessary teams to ensure hardware tracking records are properly maintained and accurately reflected within the appropriate system. Work closely with Infrastructure Deployment personnel to track new hardware installation as well as decommissioning and disposal of hardware taken out of service and ensures hardware tracking records accurately reflect these changes. Maintain working knowledge in the IT Infrastructure Asset Management processes as they relate to the acquisition, receiving, installation of new hardware assets. Respond to requests from management and Government Customer for specific IT Asset Management and Inventory data information.Monitor and tracks hardware lifecycles to identify aging hardware across the enterprise and projected dates for replacement. Manage annual budgeting process to project current and future hardware and/or software procurement needs.Knowledge & SkillsThorough knowledge of server, network, and desktop hardware and software operating system and peripheral technologies required. Strong attention to detail and adherence to process.Proven experience with procurement, inventory and tracking of computer products. Proven experience with budget planning and tracking. Effective relationship building skills and ability to partner with stakeholders and colleagues. Requires detailed knowledge of quality and cost effective purchasing, inventory maintenance, distribution and tracking.Proficient with Microsoft Office applications. Experience with developing and reviewing policies/procedures preferred. Excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills. Strong problem solving and planning skills.Experience & EducationSix (6) years in an IT Asset Management, IT Procurement, IT Hardware Lifecycle Management or similar type role within IT.Bachelor---s degree in information technology management or related field preferred.Two (2) years of experience in related field may be substituted for each year of the two (2) years of collegeProfessional Project Management certification preferred.Secret Clearance required.Additional experience/education may be required by assignment or contract.Physical Requirements/Working EnvironmentCONUS:Generally works in normal office environment, but may be required to travel domestically and internationally on short notice, to austere environments, under harsh living conditions.OCONUS:Some positions will be assigned to overseas locations where living and working conditions at assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable, with long hours, exposure to weather, dust, and hazardous/harsh conditions.
