Kadiak, LLC is currently hiring a Project Manager I to manage, plan and coordinate the full life-cycle of IT projects in support of the U. S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO).

The Project Manager ensures that all project goals and objectives are accomplished within the prescribed timeframe, budgetary parameters and to the customer s satisfaction. The Program/ Project Manager provides project team leadership necessary to meet defined project deliverables and maintains positive working relationships with the customer and key stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Maintains a solid customer relationship, and assures customer satisfaction with the successful execution of the project

* Interfaces with internal project teams, management, customers and suppliers. Maintains timely communications, and develops collaborative rapports with solutions-oriented approaches

* Assist the OCIO with project scope, deliverables, cost, profitability, schedule, quality and resources

* Develops IT project plans to guide the execution and control of the project

* Communicates IT project plans, objectives, timelines, schedules, job assignments, responsibilities and reporting relationships

* Sets, manages and communicates project expectations to team members and stakeholders

* Tracks project milestones and deliverables

* Collects and disseminates performance information, such as project review data, status reports, progress measurement and forecasting

* Identifies changes in computer and systems technologies. Interprets their meaning to senior management. Employs knowledge of current and cutting-edge technology and systems as applied to customer requirements

* Provides technical assistance to facilitate planning and directing in the design, installation, modification, and operation of information systems capabilities. Ensures that the software and related products satisfy the needs and requirements of the customer

* Coordinates the preparation, review and consolidation of customer information systems, budgets, acquisitions, and business plans

* Establishes and implements policies, procedures and standards, and ensures their conformance with information systems goals and procedures

* Studies and anticipates resource requirements including personnel, software, equipment, and facilities. Makes appropriate recommendations to the customer

* Identifies and manages project dependencies and critical path. Proactively manages changes in project scope. Identifies potential crises, and devises contingency plans

* Implements industry best practices, project management tools and methodologies

* Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company

* Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor s instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output

* Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and coworkers. Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and human resources. Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions to the best of own ability



Position Requirements

JOB SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES

* Bachelor s degree in related field of study

* At least 2 years of relevant experience in direct management of IT programs, including planning and directing the design, installation, modification, and operation of information systems

* PMP Certification preferred

* Strong working knowledge and proficiency in MS Project applied to a software development life cycle

* Skilled in facilitating teamwork and coordinating efforts for the successful achievement of goals

* Excellent supervisory and management skills with ability to resolve conflicts, grievances, confrontations or disagreements in a constructive manner

* Exceptional organization skills with ability to effectively manage multiple IT projects and priorities

* Excellent verbal and written communications skills with solid presentation skills

* Exceptional customer service and relationship-building skills

* Ability to plan and oversee projects using project management software tools and methodologies

* Ability to schedule, plan and lead meetings

* US Citizen

Working Environment & Conditions

This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The work load may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
