Job Summary/Company: Sparks Group has partnered with a hospitality company who is planning the implementation of a new, cloud-based Human Capital Management and Payroll System. This project will lead to a single integrated Workforce Management Platform, representing the technology of the future for the entire company's HR system. The Senior Manager of Training & Development will be responsible for developing content in support of end-user learning, across several distinct areas of talent acquisition, as well as documenting procedures in alignment with new learning content. The Senior Manager is expected to demonstrate strong learning leadership expertise in order to develop the content using both classic and contemporary learning design strategies that meet learner and business needs. In addition to an expertise in learning content development, this role will require some project management skills to define and track activities to successfully achieve milestones and objectives. The Senior Manager should have a consultative skill set, seek to learn and understand the body of work, as well as end-user needs, capabilities and resources, to ensure optimal content and resource development. This person should be highly collaborative and possess strong interpersonal skills to effectively partner with subject matter experts (SMEs) across teams within talent acquisition and with Catapult team members. This position is a full-time temporary role projected to be approximately an 8 month assignment, ending July 2020. Responsibilities: Learning Development - Design, develop, and strategies and content distinctly for specific teams/functions in talent acquisition (TA), e.g., Executive Recruiting, FLEX Staffing and University Recruiting. Content should complement the standard TA learning content developed by the Learning + Development (L+D) team. - Partner with SMEs to assess business needs and work with them to scope the project requirements. - Scope the learning and development needs for the body of work within each specific TA team to identify the learning objectives, output milestones, and timeline for each. - Utilize creative thinking capabilities to design and develop client specific products. - Lead and interact with subject matter experts to design and develop effective learning content based on an understanding of the end-user and content needs unique to the respective teams. - Collaborate on the development of related process and procedure documents that align with learning content. - Ensure the creation of all learning solutions maintain high standards of excellence in design, instructional soundness, and meet the business needs. - Solicit and incorporate feedback from subject matter experts and assess evaluation feedback to make appropriate changes. - Package multiple items to create curriculum, as appropriate. Project Management - Directly lead the development effort on projects, and to use the opportunities to engage and collaborate with others on the broader L+D development team. - Responsible for overall project management and oversight of projects (e.g., scope, time). - Plan and execute learning designs for all projects to ensure stakeholders are appropriately informed and support the learning approach proposed. Building Relationships - Develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders, as appropriate (e.g., TA, L+D, Americas). - Work along with business partners to ensure training meets the needs of the individual stakeholders and audience members. - Partner closely with Talent Acquisition and subject matter experts to ensure an end product that effectively completes the full life-cycle of job-related learning for the target audience groups. Qualifications/Background Profile: - 4-year bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Hospitality, Education, or related major. - 5+ years of related work experience in the learning + development discipline - Deep learning development experience and expertise using Development tools, e.g., Adobe Creative Cloud applications, Storyline, Captivate, etc. - Experience consulting to business leaders, providing training design and development across multiple mediums (e.g., instructor-led, eLearning, video, virtual-ILT) Preferred: - Graduate/post graduate degree in Instructional Design, Adult Learning, or related Education field. - Proven experience working in a complex, service-intensive, deadline-driven environment - Prior experience successfully working with and influencing cross-functional work teams in a matrix organization - Demonstrated success managing multiple projects on time and on budget - Demonstrated ability to make decisions in a timely manner sometimes with incomplete information, under tight deadlines and in high pressure situations - Track record of consistently delivering positive business results Knowledge and Skills: - Strong design and development experience and demonstrated ability in applying adult learning theory and iterative instructional design methodologies (i.e., Successive Approximation Model (SAM)), using a variety of innovative approaches. - High degree of technical proficiency with software programs necessary for the position: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Creative Cloud (e.g., InDesign, Photoshop) and eLearning development tools such as Captivate, Articulate and others. - Ability to work with multiple stakeholders at varying levels of management with credibility. - Detail oriented, while maintaining alignment with broader organization objectives. - Comfortable with complexity, ambiguity, and change. - Possess strong content writing ability, creativity, attention to detail and excellent proofing and editing skills. - Self-starter with self-confidence, enthusiasm, and strong customer service orientation. - Manages time well, correctly prioritizes tasks, and is flexible.
