Job Announcement
Leads and collaborates in the development and documentation of
designs for a wide variety of projects for a portfolio of over 240
Fairfax County Government owned and leased buildings/spaces. Most
assigned projects will be for the performance of interior space
planning and fit-out as well as feasibility studies. Responsible
for the complete development of documents associated with full
performance space planning and minor renovation studies, designs,
and tasks. Works under the guidance and general direction of an
Architect/Engineer IV and Assistant Director for Design,
Engineering and Construction.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent
to the following:

Graduation from a four-year college or university accredited by the
Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technologies with a
bachelor's degree in the appropriate engineering or architectural
field; plus four years of progressively responsible professional
experience in the appropriate engineering field.
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED:
Valid driver's license.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
NECESESARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
The appointee to the position must satisfactorily complete a
criminal background check and driving record check.
This position is considered "essential personnel" and will be
required to report to work during times designated countywide as
approved for unscheduled leave regardless of the emergency
situation (i.e., weather, transportation, other disaster).
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Access facility equipment and equipment rooms. Mobile to access
active construction sites. Wear personal safety equipment to
include safety shoes, ear protection, safety glasses, and hardhat.
Ability to climb ladders, access tight spaces, crawl, reach, lift
25 pounds, push 25 pounds, etc. Dexterity to use hand tools Vision
to see detail drawings, construction and discern color. Ability to
drive a motor vehicle. Communicate with others verbally and in
writing. All duties performed with or without reasonable
accommodations.
SELECTION PROCEDURE:
Panel interview and may include a practical exercise.
