Senior Network Engineer Subject Matter Expert (SME)
Location:Washington, DC
You will serve as the Senior Network Engineer Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the GCubed information technology (IT) support efforts for the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Joint Service Provider (JSP). You will provide SME support to a customer-focused organization that provides, manages, operates, and maintains IT shared services for the Pentagon and select agencies and organizations in the National Capital Region (NCR). The JSP performs a wide variety of enterprise support functions in order to meet service requirements. These functions may include server hosting, in which the hardware, software, infrastructure, and maintenance required to host the customer-managed applications are in a consolidated, virtualized environment where JSP manages the server environment up to the operating system and provides operational monitoring and facility support for the Operations (OPS) consolidated server rooms (CSRs). The JSP also supports the DISA Organizational Messaging Service (OMS) which enables organizations to exchange both classified and unclassified information with other organizations within the DoD, other United States (US) Government agencies, Five Eyes countries (US, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand), the 28 North Atlantic Treaty Organization countries, and all countries with US military bases or embassies worldwide.
The JSP Senior Network Engineer SME shall serve as the knowledge expert for the experience installing, configuring, and administering Windows Server 2008R2, Server 2012R2, Server 2016, and Windows 7 and Windows 10 operating systems. This SME should have proven experience of Microsoft's operating systems, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and knowledge with other Microsoft Products. This SME shall work with other team members to analyze and resolve user problems and perform preventative maintenance. This SME should also have senior knowledge of TCP/IP network design and support including Cisco equipment; LAN and WLAN networks, routing and sub-netting.
Minimum Qualifications:
a)Perform independent verification, validation, and project management for current and future projects.
b) Provide technical support, advice and troubleshooting for utility network operations with a 98% target network uptime.
c) Produce documentation for use in configuration, repair and troubleshooting of hardware, software and network operating systems.
d) Develop and document processes and procedures for the day to day operations.
e) Implement systems as needed based on network application requirements.
f) Manage Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, WSUS, SCCM, and WhatsUp Gold.
g) Provide support for VMware ESX/VSphere Virtualization Technologies (ESX 5.5 or greater, Virtual Center, P2V Tools) design/management/implementation.
h) Provide support for Storage Area Network (SAN)
i) Provide installation support for network applications.
j) Produce network architectural drawings and schematic diagrams.
k) Perform network monitoring of the network to include all assets.
l) Experience with server hardware and RAID arrays
m) Experience in task automation using scripting
n) Develop and maintain all workstation and server images.
o) Monitor and Maintain McAfee-s Host Based Security System (HBSS).
p) Maintain virus definitions, patch versions and Department of Defense (DoD) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) levels on all network servers and workstations.
q) Utilize the DoD Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) to update, manage and track implementation of information security requirements for the IT assets and resources.
r) Support as needed DoD Information Assurance Risk Management Framework (DIARMF).
