Job Description:
Key Role:Support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA)
Electronic Health Record Modernization Integration Office (EHRM-IO)
as a Senior Health Data Operating System (OS) and Network Engineer.
Validate and monitor OS logs for both Windows and Linux. Validate
configuration on the Linux servers after system upgrades and
patching. Validate installation of application, configuration of
roles, features, policies, and setting to ensure they comply with
VA requirements. Ensure systems attached to a Storage Area Network
are configured with Multipath IO Policy to achieve redundancy and
optimized performance. Review NIC teaming configuration for network
redundancy and recommend updates to settings for optimizing
throughput and performance. Conduct quality assurance on instances
of Red Hat Linux on both physical and virtualized instances.
Validate that Linux authentication with Centrify Software to
Windows Domain Controller both support PIV card and NMEA
authentication. Validate systems that are added to the monitoring
tools, including SCOM and Solarwinds. Support troubleshooting
events and provide recommendations to optimize server performance.
Perform daily review of event logs, status of clusters, and
notifications.Basic Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience managing Linux environments in a
healthcare setting
- Experience setting up SolarWinds
- Experience using Ansible
- Experience with installing, patching, and troubleshooting Linux
operating systems
- Bachelor's degree in CS, Engineering, Math, Data Science,
Health Informatics, Data Analytics, or Statistics or 15+ years of
experience working in a professional environment in lieu of a
degree
Additional Qualifications:
- Experience in the VA
- Experience implementing Electronic Health Records
- Experience with scripting, including BASH and Python
- Experience with VA and DoD legacy health data and private
sector health data
- Knowledge of standard tools and services utilized in enterprise
Windows environments, including Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP, as
related to Linux deployments
- Knowledge of SSL/TLS Certs for securing application

determined by various factors, including but not limited to
location, the individual's particular combination of education,
knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as
contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements.
The projected compensation range for this position is $81,800.00 to
$186,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the
typical salary range for this position and is just one component of
Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.Work
