Good communication and quality engineering is the root of ShawCo's success now and into the future.Position Description:The qualified individual will work as part of the ShawCo team on projects for Industrial Facilities (steel mills, refineries, manufacturing, etc.)---Typical Duties: --- - - - - - - - -Perform design/analysis calculations for structural steel, concrete and foundations. --- - - - - - - - -Create design drawings and specifications. --- - - - - - - - -Create analysis and/or inspection reports. --- - - - - - - - -Interaction with contractors, fabricators, owners and clients from beginning to end of project. --- - - - - - - - -Onsite structural inspections and field observations. --- - - - - - - - -Solve diverse issues that present unique challenges.Preferred Qualifications: --- - - - - - - - -Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis on structural design. --- - - - - - - - -Varying years experience in Structural Engineering and drawing creation will be considered. --- - - - - - - - -A self-disciplined person with an innate desire to gain additional technical abilities by learning new things and to utilize their current abilities to their full extent by contributing to the team's efforts. --- - - - - - - - -Sound communications skills - ability to work directly with clients and with ShawCo team members. --- - - - - - - - -Experienced with AISC Steel Manual, ACI 318, and ASCE 7. --- - - - - - - - -Design experience with structural steel, concrete, and foundations required. --- - - - - - - - -Experience with AutoCAD required. --- - - - - - - - -Knowledge of Excel, and STAAD Pro (or other modeling software) a plus. --- - - - - - - - -Experience with fall protection design and standards a plus. --- - - - - - - - -Exposure to construction means and methods a plus. --- - - - - - - - -Willingness to visit sites for taking measurements and observations.Location:COLUMBIANA, Ohio - Partial Remote work available for the right person within a commutable radius from our officeSalary Level:Varies depending on experience level.Benefits:Retirement planHealth, vision, and dental insuranceVacation timeFlexible work environmentJob Type: Full-timewww.shawcoeng.com
