Job Description:
Job Summary:
The Director of Education Services will lead all efforts to advance
and enhance education strategies and programs within the AAF. -This
will be accomplished by working with the Executive VPs of the
Mosaic Center & Education Services, the National Education
Executive Council, and the Student Advisory Committee to shape and
lead the AAF's Education efforts. These initiatives focus on
Education, Recruitment, Recognition and Professional
Development.
The Director of Education Services is responsible for connecting
our college chapter members with advertising industry leaders. This
position will allow you to develop programming to further prepare
students interested in a career in the advertising, marketing,
media, and communications industry, assist with career placement
and make an impact on the next wave of advertising innovators.
This role will be responsible for the day-to-day managerial and
administrative operations associated with the AAF's College Chapter
membership, National Student Advertising Competition (NSAC),
Student Advertising Career Conference, Campus to Corporate
Internship Program, High School AdCamp, Alpha Delta Sigma Honor
Society and other programs directly related to the organization's
World Class education services that connect AAF college chapter
members and faculty with AAF's professional clubs and corporate
network.
Essential Responsibilities:
Strategy - The Director is responsible for developing the
department's strategic vision. You will develop, implement, and
manage long- term strategic plans, policies, and programs. This
position will require a strategic leader for the department, as
well as in collaboration with all AAF departments, volunteers, and
members.
Program Management - The Director will oversee the implementation
and management of existing Education Services programming, as well
as develop new programming. -The Director will create program
timelines, budgets, marketing strategies and manage database. -You
will be responsible for all Education Services program logistics,
consisting of (but, not limited to) content development, timely
program communication, award submissions and judging coordination
and run of show development.
Fundraising - The Director will be responsible for securing funds
to support Education Services initiatives. -You will be proficient
in identifying prospective sponsors and speak to the benefits of
partnering with the Education Services, maintaining relationships
with existing partners to discuss their needs and align them with
our offerings, craft partnership proposals, maintain contact lists
and follow up with partners to continue cultivating
relationships.
Outreach and Advocacy - The Director will conduct outreach to
secure new partners, drive awareness of Education Services
programming within college chapters and maintain communication with
Education Services program alumni.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Set the bar - Bring your passion for development to our student
members by providing additional education support for young talent
and faculty and creating professional opportunities for our student
members and talent pipelines for our partners. -You will
demonstrate confident leadership, flexibility, and be
action-orientation.
In this position you will develop strong relationships with faculty
and other AAF Education Services volunteers across the country to
ensure seamless program executions, as well as be considered a
reliable source for all Education Services constituents.
In this Director role, you will create a self-sustaining community
among faculty and students by providing regular opportunities for
engagement, collaboration, and friendship beyond competition. You
will also develop new resources to show tangible benefits in AAF
College Chapter Membership for all members at any institution.
In this position you will develop strong relationships with faculty
and students, corporate members, and partners.
- - - - - - - -Minimum 5+ years of professional experience; with
relevant experience in Higher Education, Membership and
Fundraising/Event Coordination.
- - - - - - - -BS/BA degree or equivalent experience; MBA is a
plus.
- - - - - - - -Advertising experience is a plus but not
mandatory.
- - - - - - - -Relationships with universities, is a plus
- - - - - - - -Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Power Point,
Excel and Outlook) are required.
- - - - - - - -Proficiency in Database software - IMIS
(preferred)
- - - - - - - -Must be highly organized with a demonstrated ability
to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
- - - - - - - -Must have a very high attention to detail.
- - - - - - - -Able to initiate action and follow-through with
minimal supervision.
- - - - - - - -Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written
communication skills.
- - - - - - - -Must have excellent customer service skills.
- - - - - - - -Light travel is required for this position.
Compensation and Benefits
This position is a Full Time Salaried position with multiple
employer paid benefits.
Our office is based in a downtown DC newly renovated office
building with onsite fitness facility, parking garage, bike locker
and access to a variety of metro stations and common bus lines.
*This position is based in Washington DC and will be a hybrid of in
office and remote due to COVID-19.
