Associates, Inc. is looking for a part-time Graphic Designer to
support an important Department of Energy / National Nuclear
Security Administration (DOE/NNSA) client located within the
Washington D.C. area. The selected candidate will create graphic
illustrations, marketing materials, assist with presentations, and
more. This part-time position is available immediately to the
successful candidate.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSMELE Associates, Inc. is
seeking to add a part-time Graphic Designer to support an important
DOE/NNSA customer within the Counterterrorism and
Counterproliferation program in Washington D.C. The selected
candidate should have an eye for color and design and should be
able to apply advanced design principles to graphic concepts as
needed. The Graphic Designer must be up to date on current industry
trends and graphic best-practices to assist with a variety of
graphics and illustrations such as charts, logos, presentations,
and other internal and external deliverables. Essential functions
may include:
- Design graphic elements such as templates, publications,
illustrations, timelines, organizational charts, maps, covers,
logos, and flow charts.
- Develop original graphic concepts for product design while
skillfully applying graphic design principles.
- Design, produce, and deliver moderately complex graphic
products, to include participating in review meetings to guide
project revisions and direct and define project requirements and
plans.
- Facilitate discussions about how to visually represent analytic
ideas.
- Provide technical troubleshooting and/or pursue resolution from
available resources.
- Apply complex graphic design principles, theories, and
practices.
- Brief management on the status of projects, as needed.
- Recommending points of emphasis for presenting words,
communication pieces and/or developing moderately complex
presentations for senior staff, developing and suggesting quality
presentation concepts, graphics, etc., for use in presentations and
discussions.
- All other duties as assigned.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Active DOE 'Q' or DOD Top-Secret Clearance.
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or
college.
- Five (5) years of specialized work experience in fields such as
graphic design, visual communication, new media design, interactive
multimedia design, web design, or a closely related media arts
field.
- Five (5) years of specialized experience in visual arts,
publication, print design, branding/brand identity, promotional
design, and marketing and advertisement, producing charts and
graphs, HTML 5, CSS, Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop, as
well as customary Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge of industry-standard graphic design software on PC
platforms.DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Master's degree in visual arts or graphic design.
