Job Description:

VP Sales & Marketing provides effective leadership and strategic direction to all sales and marketing activities to achieve profitable growth in the commercial and law enforcement trade channels Directly responsible for developing and executing an integrated sales and marketing strategy that achieves the annual business plan specific to the commercial and law enforcement channels; including full responsibility of P&L management related to gross sales and margin goals and for management of all operational support costs This position will staff and lead a competent team to develop and achieve short and long term integrated sales and marketing plans to support the companys growth strategy Principal Responsibilities Drives implementation of strategic growth initiatives approved by the CEOEffectively partners with the Senior Leadership Team to develop align and execute Company strategyDevelops and executes an integrated sales and marketing strategy that achieves the annual business plan specific to the commercial and law enforcement channelsDevelops and executes new market expansion strategies that achieve FN Americas growth objectives while protectingexpanding core market positionsFoster effective strategic customer relationships to develop knowledge and understanding of requirements needs and funding while promoting FN Americas products Assesses anticipated external and internal factors associated with customers competitors markets and FN America itself that impact company strategy and implementationImplements effective sales methods and manages multiple selling strategies direct and indirect and through distribution and channel partnersDesigns and implements product sales and sales support programs promotions and pricing to develop and grow existing and new markets that achieve the annual business plan; in collaboration with marketing department and branding initiatives Review market analyses to determine customer needs price schedules and discount ratesDirects channel development activity and coordinate sales distribution by establishing sales territories quotas and goals Analyze sales statistics to formulate policy and assist dealers in promoting sales Advise dealers distributors and clients concerning sales and advertising techniquesHires develops coaches and retains a high performing Sales and Marketing TeamCollaborates with sales representatives on opportunities to meet with key clients deliver sales presentations further develop relationships and negotiate and close deals Meet with the regional sales manager and key customerdistributor accounts and prospectsEstablishes Sales Team performance goals and incentive plans to increase sales and meet profitability targets Prepares periodic sales report showing sales volume potential sales and areas of proposed client base expansionSupports the S&OP process to harmonize product delivery schedules that meet customer requirementsControls department expenses to meet budget guidelinesEnsures the effectiveness of the marketing function including brand planning portfolio management product marketing and marketing communications across all mediaEnsures the development of brand and product plans to set strategy for promotion of priority products to build consumer awareness penetrate markets and build demand to pull product off the shelfProvides management oversight of key third party relationships eg advertising agencies media sponsors to ensure media mix and marketing support by product opportunity and target marketCoordinates marketing efforts of resellers with strategic plans and objectivesSupports the new product development process in the design development and manufacture of innovative products that create competitive separation and meet specified cost performance and schedule requirementsDirects product rationalization efforts to eliminate unprofitable items from sales line Integrates best practice business processes and standards ethics and values accountability alignment and implementationManages reporting of key success metrics that tracks measures analyzes and reports FN Americas sales and marketing performance Supports Identification and development of strategic partnershipsalliances that strengthen FN Americas market position and fill capability gaps critical to achieving market expansionRepresents company at trade association meetings and shows to promote products and conduct marketcompetitive analysis for strategic insight and evaluate FN Americas overall competitive positionAssists other departments within the organization to prepare manuals and technical publicationsEducation Experience Requirements A business related bachelors degree and 10 or more years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience Other Qualifications & Requirements years of executive level sales and marketing leadership experience with heavy emphasis on successfully building and deploying a strategy to increase profitable revenue This includes developing and delivering on gross sales and margin goals according to sales forecastTrack record of leading a sophisticated sales and marketing organization in the firearms or broadly defined sporting goods or outdoor recreation industry Consistently leads top performing teams meeting or exceeding annual revenue and profits goalsPrevious experience personally developing short and long range sales support programs targeted toward existing and new markets and leading direct reports through the same processSignificant experience developing and implementing customer and product sales strategies and promotions and pricing strategies in collaboration with marketing department and branding initiativesAdept at developing and expanding relationships with key distributors dealers customers and other important stakeholdersPast responsibility for directing channel development activity and coordinate sales distribution by establishing sales territories quotas and goals Able to analyze sales statistics to formulate policy and assist dealers in promoting sales Past experience advising dealers distributors and clients concerning sales and advertising techniquesAbility to assess product offerings and advise on needed product simplification and standardization to eliminate unprofitable items from sales lineWorking knowledge of software tools like Constant Contact;
