Job Description:
The Sr. Director, Analytics, Reporting & Data is a critical
leadership role accountable for overseeing the impactful delivery
of commercial analytics, reporting, and data solutions to the US
Oncology organization. In this role, you will manage a team
responsible for national and subnational analytics, marketing
analytics, data strategy, management & governance, and reporting
excellence. As a member of the Oncology Business Excellence
leadership team, you will collaborate closely with Integrated
Insights, Field Enablement, Omnichannel, Commercial Excellence,
Data Science & AI, and IT to deliver comprehensive, innovative
solutions to support US Oncology commercial strategies and
execution.In this highly consultative role, you will use your
strong leadership skills, critical thinking, communication
excellence, and technical expertise to be a thought partner to the
business. Your seasoned ability to combine your data, reporting,
and analytics expertise with your business and clinical savvy will
enable you to successfully collaborate with commercial partners and
influence strategy and decision-making. You will use your knowledge
of advanced analytics approaches to guide a team in deepening our
understanding of disease states, treatment landscapes, and patient
journeys while serving as an expert resource on the scope,
interpretation, and nuances of healthcare data. Your people
management skills will enable you to coach team members to enhance
their capabilities and support their professional
growth.Accountabilities
- Engage as a thought partner and leader through expertise in
secondary data analysis, data strategies, and reporting solutions
to address core business priorities to unlock the full commercial
value of the oncology portfolio.
- Act as a strategic partner to key customers, advising on the
use of analytics and data science to drive business decisions.
- Oversee Commercial Analytics, Reporting and Data Center of
Excellence ensuring that standard methodology approaches are always
used. Activities include:
- Management and design of secondary analytics, reporting and
data workstreams, roadmaps and operational plans to enable
evidence-driven decision-making.
- Design of resourcing plans (dollars and people) to meet
business needs.
- Optimize vendor (Outsourced Service Provider) strategies and
evolution of GCO partnership to drive efficiency, scale and
cost-savings.
- Drive innovation and capability builds across analytics,
reporting and data platforms to enable the business to scale and
accelerate data to insights.
- Lead data strategy, data product development and data
governance including strategic partnering and collaboration with
business, IT and Data Science and AI teams in developing and
driving data management strategies in accordance with their
business objectives, anchoring and enforcing data governance
policies, and standards as well as overseeing aggregation,
integration, and internal publish of all data sources across AZ
platform(s) driving data quality, data accessibility, and key
business capabilities.
- Lead and partner with the business to drive an increased level
of sophistication around the use of data analytics and reporting
for improving commercialization strategy and effectiveness.
- Proactively communicate with multi-functional teams to
anticipate information and data needs.
- Develop people from both a functional skills and leadership
perspective, including coaching, recruiting and retaining
talent.Essential Skills/Experience
- BA/BS degree, with preference for a quantitative field.
- 6+ years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience working
for a biopharmaceutical company or other relevant industry (e.g.,
management consulting, market research).
- Experience applying data in predictive and prescriptive
analytics to inform business decisions (Targeting, Referral
Mapping, Marketing Mix Modeling, return on investment, etc.).
- Proficiency in secondary data analysis with intimate knowledge
of a variety of industry secondary data sources (Claims, EMR) and
understanding of distribution channels and product flow for
medications.
- Direct experience with developing and/or implementing reporting
solutions via Business Intelligence visualization tools (PowerBI,
MicroStrategy, etc.).
- Ability to manage, prioritize and lead numerous projects
simultaneously, including deploying Agile approaches.
- Experience leading a large team in a related field, with
demonstrated success in coaching and developing others.
- Budget management experience.
- Demonstrated communication and teamwork skills; ability to gain
consensus laterally and vertically and act within a matrix team
environment; ability to work in a collaborative and influencing
fashion that drives to business action and maintains high levels of
respect for and from peers.
- Strong intuition for business and excellent communication and
interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work within AstraZeneca's established
policies/procedures.
- Ability to travel within the USA and abroad.Desirable
Skills/Experience
- Advanced degree in a quantitative field, including Data
Science, Statistics, Business Analytics.
- Experience working in Oncology.
- Broad understanding of Field and Marketing Operations.
- Expertise in at least one data analysis language (SQL, R or
Python).
- Experience with data applications in advanced analytics and
AI/ML.
- Experience with data quality management and knowledge of data
architecture.The annual base pay for this position ranges from
$169,898 to $254,847. Base pay offered may vary depending on
multiple individualized factors, including market location,
job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, our
positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity;
eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive
program (salaried roles), to receive a retirement contribution
(hourly roles), and commission payment eligibility (sales roles).
