Job Description:
Weber Shandwick is currently seeking an Executive Vice President (EVP), Healthcare Communications Planning to join our team. This EVP, Communications Planning will lead the development of a Healthcare center of excellence (COE) for earned-first digital strategies, working closely with experts across social and emerging platforms, influencer management, earned media and content development. In addition, this role will play a critical role leading the planning and orchestration across a broad range of efforts spanning earned, paid, and owned media efforts for a leading pharmaceutical company, including both corporate and product communications in partnership with other agencies. They will work closely with the Client Experience (CX) leads, Strategic Planning, Analytics, and Media leads on the account to craft communications strategies and campaigns which earn attention and drive reputation. This role will report to the EVP, Head of Communications Planning for North America.
The ideal candidate will have significant experience in the healthcare space leading product or corporate communications for a major healthcare company, either at an agency or brand, have a strong understanding of the current social and political landscape as it relates to healthcare, and have demonstrated ability to plan and orchestrate campaigns which earn attention for healthcare clients. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have significant experience with data and analytics, working closely with teams using large datasets (e.g., Acxiom, Epsilon, etc.) to define and target specific audience communities as well as determine KPIs and performance measurement strategies. -
Responsibilities:


  • Partner with Client Experience (CX) to lead and orchestrate campaign planning and execution across earned, paid, and owned media, with a heavy emphasis on award-worthy product and corporate communications.
  • Lead the development of our digital media healthcare capabilities, working closely with experts from social and emerging platforms, influencer, earned media and content development teams.
  • Partner with senior media leads to craft media strategies for earning attention and increase corporate reputation.
  • Partner with Strategic Planning teams to develop creative and media briefs to guide the planning and execution of media strategies.
  • Lead the development of audience and media strategies in conjunction with the appropriate analytics and media teams.
  • Work closely with clients to translate business goals into communications objectives and campaigns.
  • In partnership with CX, facilitate relationship development with agency and client partners.
  • In partnership with business leaders, develop a pipeline of growth for digital healthcare clients and capabilities.

    Qualifications:

    • You are highly collaborative, intellectually curious, and lead by example.
    • You have 15+ years of communications and/or media planning experience, with an emphasis on earned media, product communications, and/or corporate communications for major healthcare companies.
    • You have 6+ years of experience building and leading high-functioning teams to deliver award-winning work.
    • You have 6+ years of demonstrated experience partnering with senior leaders to plan and execute campaigns on behalf of a major client.
    • You have cross-functional expertise spanning strategy, earned and paid media, and analytics.
    • You have demonstrated experience working with data and analytics teams, particularly to set KPIs, develop measurement strategies, and identify and extract audience insights for media planning. Experience working with a major data company like Acxiom, Epsilon, etc., a plus.
    • You maintain a deep understanding of the healthcare landscape, including the social and political landscape.
    • Experience working in an agency with cross-functional teams a plus

    • Bachelor's degree or greater required
