About SIR:The Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR) is a
thriving professional medical society dedicated to optimizing
patient care and improving lives through minimally invasive,
image-guided treatments. Located in Fairfax, Virginia, SIR
represents one of the most innovative, exciting, and competitive
specialties in medicine today. SIR is a 501(c)(6) professional
association that supports more than 8,100 interventional radiology
physicians, trainees, medical students, scientists, and clinical
professionals. SIR is also comprised of SIR's 501(c)(3) Foundation,
which focuses on research and fundraising to advance the future of
interventional radiology. Together SIR and SIR Foundation have
nearly 50 staff, combined annual revenues of $10 million, and
assets of nearly $17 million.Position Summary:SIR is excited to
open up an internship position to work with the SIR Foundation. In
this position you will be responsible for assisting with the
clinical research programs and grants of SIR and the SIR
Foundation. This position primarily entails communicating with
grant recipients for marketing/promotional purposes, coordinating
SIR Foundation's diversity and inclusion efforts, and supporting
the Associate of Clinical Research and grants in their various
tasks. The intern is expected to work part time (-10-15 hours/week)
and can be used to fulfill an internship requirement as part of
their university curriculum.
Requirements:
Essential Functions and ResponsibilitiesCreate and update grant
recipient portfoliosCreate a excel tracker using the grant
recipient portfoliosReach out to past grant recipients for status
of their manuscript submission-whether they've submitted to JVIR or
elsewhereTrack efforts of diversity and inclusion in our
grantmaking and award programs through data visualizationProvide
support for SIR Foundation grants programImprove tracking of
research efforts of previous grant recipients Support communication
effortsOrganize marketing/promotional campaigns that provide
feedback on our grants program via questionnaires, social media,
and graphic design campaigns Knowledge, Skills and
AbilitiesFamiliarity with PubMed Advanced experience with MS Excel
and PowerPoint encouragedProficiency with library sciences
encouragedSuperior organizational skills and strong attention to
detailEducation: Working towards a Bachelor of Science degree
requiredWorking towards a Master's degree is
encouragedExperience:Experience in working in a fast-paced remote
environment Working Conditions and Physical Requirements: This
position is 100% remote. Use of phones and computers for extended
periods. Utilize equipment and communication technologies for
conference calls and teleconference meetings/webinars. Requires
mobility to move and travel away from the remote setting. Ability
to lift 25 pounds. Frequent interaction with internal staff and
physician members via phone, in person, email, and other mediums.

continue to work with a flexible arrangement based on business
