We are hiring creative, motivated, and talented people with a passion for doing what's right, what's smart, and what works. -- Position Description Redhorse Corporation is seeking a Financial Accountant to support our client as an accounting expert to explain and interpret the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). The Financial Accountant will apply professional accounting principles, techniques, and theories to solve complex financial issues of the agency. -- -- Primary Duties and Responsibilities for the Imagery Data Analyst include, but are not limited to: * General accounting, financial statement, and reporting support. * Creating trial balance to financial statement crosswalks and other crosswalks. * Account reconciliations with shared service provider. * Creating budgetary to proprietary tie-outs. * Knowledge/documenting of design and implementation of complementary user entity controls. * Supporting accounts payable, accrual estimates and accrual accounting. * Assisting the agency with capital lease determinations. * Knowledge of advances, prepayments, and related budgetary and proprietary accounts (such as GL 480200 - undelivered orders, obligations, prepaid/advanced, etc.) processes and procedures. * Accounts payable/receivables documentation/billing, and other related financial management support. * Knowledge/experience with federal Government financial audit processes and procedures. * Supporting/providing analysis, processing, and technical assistance in devising new or revising accounting policies/procedures, categorizing accounting transactions, and improving accounting operations. * Supporting/providing a variety of complicated tasks related to financial management, payroll, accounting operations, and procedures/process with the Agency---s shared service providers. * Supporting internal and external audit preparation, execution, and implementation of recommendations. Minimum Basic Requirements for Skills, Experience, and Credentials include: * Current Top Secret security clearance with current SCI eligibility is required. * A Bachelor---s degree from an accredited college or university, with a concentration in Accounting is required. * Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM) or Certified Defense Financial Manager (CDFM). * A minimum of five (5) years of accounting experience. * Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), US Standard General Ledger, Fund Balance with Treasury (FBwT), Capitalization of Property and Leases, Adjusted Trial Balance (ATB), etc. * Ability to research and analyze various financial statements and disclosures to determine compliance with the GAAP. * Work independently and with accounting, audit, and other multi-discipline teams on a variety of complex accounting and financial issues. * Reconciling accounts including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and other general ledger accounts. * Assisting in the correction of differences between the subsidiary ledger balances and the control account balances in the general ledger. * General accounting, financial statement, and reporting support. * Ability to problem solve and make decisions * Must be able to analyze and interpret data * Ability to examine/observe details * Expert-level proficiency with MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and other similar products, to preparation and presentation of concepts, ideas, findings, conclusions, and other results to team members and clients. The work environment for this position requires an individual to be able to: * Work sitting or standing at a desk or conference table for extended periods of time with the ability to shift positions while working: sit, stand, pace, adjust positioning in any of those without issue * Walk in the office to collaborate with co-workers, attend meetings or retrieve documents from printer * Must be able to lift and carry up to 10 lbs. -- Redhorse Corporation shall, in its discretion, modify or adjust the position to meet Redhorse---s changing needs.
