sponsor work visas.Job Summary:The senior program coordinator will
support GMF's Indo Pacific Program on a variety of convening and
research activities that foster transatlantic cooperation related
to Asia. S/he will assist with the day-to-day program operations
including drafting grant proposals and final reports, tracking
budgets and expenses, contact database updates, program updates
(website, calendar, team call notes, booklet, and op-ed
collections), selecting and managing interns, and providing
research and editorial support. The senior program coordinator will
provide logistical support for the Japan, Taiwan, and Korea
portfolios which includes the Japan Trilateral Forum, the Taiwan
Trilateral Forum, the US-China Dialogue on Taiwan, the Taiwan-US
Policy Program, and other events. S/he will also take the lead in
supporting the Indo Pacific Program's US-based convening.
- Lead planning and organization efforts for the Japan Trilateral
Forum, the Taiwan Trilateral Forum, the US-China Dialogue on
Taiwan, the Taiwan-US Policy Program (TUPP), and the Indo Pacific
Program's US-based convening.
- Assist with the organization of other events for GMF's Indo
Pacific Program, including conferences in Europe and Asia and
seminars and workshops at GMF's offices. These include both
in-person and virtual formats.
- Manage multiple aspects of events and projects through tasks
such as communicating with participants, vendors, and partners ;
developing written content; identifying potential participants;
sending invitations; executing on-site event logistics; tracking
budgets and accounting; and preparing reports.
- Coordinate the day-to-day administration of the Indo Pacific
Program, including liaising with staff across GMF, managing mailing
lists, maintaining program schedules and calendars, monitoring
necessary updates on the program webpages and managing the team's
social media on X, and preparing budgets, contracts, and expense
reports. Handle visiting fellow contracts through internal
processes and into implementation as well as looking ahead to
timely renewals.
- Engage in fundraising activities, including independently
developing proposal narratives and budgets, directly communicating
with funders, researching prospective funders, and drafting grant
reports.
- Select and oversee the Indo Pacific Program trainees.
- Manage and execute, in conjunction with the managing director,
production of the China Global podcast, including review of the
trainee's interview questions, setting up the studio space with
multimedia colleagues to conduct audio/visual tests, editing the
audio/video recordings, signing off on the final versions, and
uploading the podcast to the Simplecast platform. Podcast
production has also expanded to include video files in preparation
for GMF Communications' YouTube publications.
- Build the TUPP Alumni Network, with further plans to expand
active engagement.
- Support the managing director with DC-based administrative
tasks, including credit card coding and drafting fellow stipend
payments for approval.
- Develop written content for Indo Pacific program materials on
the GMF website, social media, or other outlets.
- Provide research and editorial support for publications and
digital content .Knowledge and Skills Needed:
- A demonstrable interest or background in contemporary East
Asian, South Asian, or Southeast Asian politics and policy -
particularly related to China, Japan, Taiwan, Korea, and/or India -
or a familiarity with US-European policy issues and global
strategic debates about American foreign policy and rising
international powers.
- A minimum of four years of experience in a position that
demonstrates the ability to multitask, work collaboratively with a
team, and meet multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong event organization and management skills, with superb
attention to detail .
- Excellent writing and editing skills in English; proficiency or
familiarity with Asian languages (e.g., Mandarin, Japanese, Korean,
Hindi/Urdu) or European languages (e.g., German, French) a
plus.
- Solid research and analytical capabilities on matters of
contemporary policy relevance .Education: Bachelor's degree in
International Relations or Affairs, Political Science, Economics,
History, Asian studies, or another related field.We highly
