The Ned's Club boasts 3 restaurants and 2 bars each serving a
unique style of cuisine from around the world. As Sous Chef you
will support your Executive Sous Chef in leading one of the
kitchens at Ned's Club, creating an environment for our teams to be
their best selves in the kitchen while providing exceptional

good time.Seven years after launching The Ned London in 2017, we
are proud to be opening a Ned's Club in the US capital, our fourth
and newest location.The property---Ned's Club Washington DC is a
members' club set over three floors of a neoclassical style
building situated within President's Park at 734 15th Street NW.The
Riggs Building sits opposite the US Treasury and was constructed in
1930. The 12-storey building is located around the corner from the
White House and sits above the Milken Center for Advancing the
American Dream, formerly the historic Riggs Bank Corcoran
branch.The Club has a Rooftop Terrace and Loft Restaurant with
views overlooking the White House, US Treasury and Washington
Monument, plus a Founder's Dining Room, The Library, Drawing Room,
Gallery and Conservatory. On level nine, there is a self-contained
floor of private event spaces.As a Leader in the kitchen reporting
into your Executive Sous Chef you will:
- Be working with the Executive Sous Chef to lead the team in the
production of our food, compiling the daily mise-en-place, and
ensuring that all food is cooked and presented to our exceptional
Ned standards.
- Lead our kitchen operations before, during and after service,
and handle the day-to-day kitchen needs.
- Support with all people leadership tasks - including team
recruitment, development and performance chats, onboarding new
starters - this is a great role for an aspiring Executive Sous Chef
who wants to build their people management skillset.
- Be a guardian of food quality and presentation, monitoring all
food leaving your kitchen and providing coaching and feedback to
the team where needed.
- Create and monitor a safe and clean kitchen environment,
protecting our guests and team from any possible harm.
- Protect our excellent food safety ratings and audit standards
by always keeping a close eye on procedures and practices, keeping
impeccable records, and implementing action plans where
necessary.
- A mainstay of our kitchen team, you'll be preparing all meat,
fish, poultry, and vegetables.What you can bring to the role:
- Previous kitchen leadership experience with a proven track
record of delivering outstanding food and people management.
- High standards are essential, as our customers and guests
expect the best.
- An organized and detailed manner is necessary, as impeccable
record keeping is needed to maintain records for our safety and
audit standards.
- Creative flair is always welcome - our menus change seasonally,
and you may be offered the opportunity to support with food design
and creation.
- A calm demeanor and a genuine passion for providing guests with
exceptional food is essential, as our kitchens can be high
pressure.
- Ideally, the person in this role would be preparing to be our
next Executive Sous Chef, so a desire to learn and progress is
