Job Description:
Position SummaryThe Senior Director of Financial Planning and
Analysis (FP&A) provides direction to a team of finance
professionals and upper management throughout the organization on
the overall planning, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of the
organization's financial performance. Develops and manages
financial analysis procedures, as well as identifies and
prioritizes recommended actions. Leads financial analysis,
modeling, forecasting, and reporting efforts to ensure efficient
financial operations. Leads the preparations and maintenance of
metric-driven financial models used to forecast and evaluate
organizational financial performance. Builds and leads a dynamic
team of financial analysts responsible for financial forecasting,
models, trend analyses, special informational reports, special
projects, and requests, and oversees the building and maintenance
of a library of financial data that is relied upon and updated in
order for senior leadership to use as they contemplate financial
strategies of the organization.Essential Responsibilities:Creates
budgets and/or forecasts in accordance with business strategic
initiatives by analyzing and interpreting trends; reviewing results
of budget and forecasting; coordinating with others to develop
department/regional budgets; and making recommendations.Works in
partnership with accounting to ensure that revenue and expense are
recorded appropriately and accurately while following established
guidelines and methodologies to operationalize allocation
methodologies required to develop departmental and divisional
statements required for financial management.Oversees, guides, and
mentors FP&A staff to support physician and administrative
leaders in their designated areas, to support variance analysis,
ad-hoc modeling, proformas, and fact-based
decision-making.Evaluates complex business environment by
conducting financial assessments (e.g., Situational,
Strengths/Weaknesses/Opportunities/Threats, Opportunity-Based
Strategic Planning, system value chain analysis); and interpreting
reports summarizing business, financial, or economic data.Supports
MFA leadership as requested by analyzing and interpreting
information to support programmatic planning, performance
management, and general financial management.Improves financial
performance by analyzing financial trends; and in partnership with
the business leaders, uses results of analysis and understanding of
operations to identify actions that address operational performance
issues.Assists with strategic financial planning by preparing
recommendations for financial plans, and operating forecasts; and
developing and interpreting financial concepts for financial
planning and control.QualificationsEducationA Bachelor's degree in
Finance, Business, or a related field is required.ExperienceA
minimum of 5 years of directly-related financial planning and
analysis experience in a healthcare setting is necessary.
