Bering Straits Native Corporation is currently seeking a
Timekeeping/Budget Program Assistant VI (PA) to support the
Department of State. The successful candidate for the PA role will
be involved in extensive contact with the public, often under time
constraints and in challenging situations. The PA is often a
student intern's first personal contact with the Department of
State. Excellent interpersonal and managerial skills are essential.
Working either individually or as a member of a team, the Program
Assistant drafts reports for the budget office and manages time and
attendance issues. The Program Assistant also provides
administrative support to the hiring and payroll process, including
processing of forms related to employment and entering data into an
automated personnel system. The Program Assistant may correspond
with student interns or internal stakeholders for a variety of
reasons, including to track pay issues, complete timesheets for
overseas based interns, and to advise on the status of pay
discrepancies.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Track each pay period to ensure that every paid intern was
paid.
- Create biweekly reports for GTM/EX of any pay discrepancy
involving paid interns.
- Complete timesheets for all overseas interns.
- Be a resource for bureaus with timekeeping issues.
- Provide overall budget support for the Paid Student Internship

REQUIREMENTSEssential and marginal functions may require
maintaining the physical condition necessary for bending, stooping,
sitting, walking, or standing for prolonged periods of time; most
of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position with

WORK ENVIRONMENTJob is performed in an office setting with exposure
to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer,
keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system. The work
described herein is primarily a modern office setting. Occasional
travel may be required.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- No supervisory responsibilities.ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORSAs
