Visit our website at to apply!SUMMARYArcticom, a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation is currently seeking a Timekeeping/Budget Program Assistant VI (PA) to support the Department of State. The successful candidate for the PA role will be involved in extensive contact with the public, often under time constraints and in challenging situations. The PA is often a student intern's first personal contact with the Department of State. Excellent interpersonal and managerial skills are essential. Working either individually or as a member of a team, the Program Assistant drafts reports for the budget office and manages time and attendance issues. The Program Assistant also provides administrative support to the hiring and payroll process, including processing of forms related to employment and entering data into an automated personnel system. The Program Assistant may correspond with student interns or internal stakeholders for a variety of reasons, including to track pay issues, complete timesheets for overseas based interns, and to advise on the status of pay discrepancies.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Track each pay period to ensure that every paid intern was paid.
  • Create biweekly reports for GTM/EX of any pay discrepancy involving paid interns.
  • Complete timesheets for all overseas interns.
  • Be a resource for bureaus with timekeeping issues.
  • Provide overall budget support for the Paid Student Internship Program team.QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty.     • General knowledge of the State Department environmentRequired:Current Secret ClearanceFully Conversant in word processing and spreadsheet software. (Instruction will be provided for any propriety software that the PA uses) Preferred:
      • Bachelor's DegreeState Department experienceNECESSARY PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSEssential and marginal functions may require maintaining the physical condition necessary for bending, stooping, sitting, walking, or standing for prolonged periods of time; most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position with frequent opportunities to move about.COVID VACCINATION REQUIREMENTS
