We are looking for a Controller to join our Finance team. The Controller will be responsible for leading aspects of the accounting function within Code & Theory. This person will report to the Stagwell Global Controller and dotted line to Code & Theory CFO. The ideal candidate will perform management functions within the US Accounting & Reporting while supporting various corporate and business initiatives.
Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the Monthly Consolidating and Consolidated Financial Statements (Stand Alone for C&T Entities and Consolidated for C&T)
• Lead the month-end close process, including balance sheet reconciliations, reporting requirements, and variance analysis
• Review bi-weekly payroll, journal entries and prepare monthly reconciliations
• Assist with our global month-end reporting process
• Lead treasury function including day to day banking and cash forecasting
• Review monthly reconciliation of all Balance Sheet accounts and certain P&L accounts
• Ensure proper revenue recognition is applied and compliance with GAAP - Detail understanding of ASC 606
• Manage the reconciliation of Intercompany activity with other Stagwell subsidiaries
• Manage/Review monthly close entries according to GAAP (i.e., Accruals, Cash and CC Reconciliations, Amortization/Depreciation)
• Oversee the operations of the accounting department, and work with the central AP team and AR Team
• Ensure that accounts receivables and payables are posted with proper coding and paid in a timely manner
• Ensure that subledgers are reconciled monthly
• Assist in the issuance of timely management reports for internal Stagwell Entity users
• Assist with the production of the annual budget, quarterly reforecasts
• Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management
• Assist with the preparation of the monthly/quarterly Stagwell reporting package and assist Corporate as needed
• Work with Corporate Tax Team on tax compliances
• Coordinate with outside tax firm by providing necessary documentation for annual tax returns
• File monthly/quarterly sales tax and real estate tax returns as necessary
• Work with In-Brand Finance for local entity requirements
• Prepare/review Internal/External Audit schedules as assigned and conduct audit research and answer questions
• Assist in establishing/maintaining strong accounting controls and practices over financial reporting driven by Corporate SOX Team
• Monitor and enforce accounting policies and procedures
• Assist with Ad hoc requests as assigned
  Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance
  • CPA
  • 7+ years of related experience, with Public Accounting and industry experience being a plus
  • Demonstrated competence in operational improvement and system optimization
  • Creative problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
  • 5-7 years of Maconomy (or competitor) experience and proficiency on all Maconomy modules
  • Excellent Excel skills
  • Manage a staff of 2+ and interact with Shared Services Teams (Financial Operations and GL Operations)
